Social distancing is the new normal. And as crazy as it seems, it’s the best thing we can do for the safety of our communities right now. So, we wanted to put together a list of recipes you can make with things you *probably* already have in your pantry or fridge, if you keep it well-stocked for baking.
You may not have every single ingredient for these recipes, but that’s okay! Many of these recipes aren’t as “scientific” as a soufflé or yeast bread. In fact, many don’t require baking at all! Many allow for substitutions depending on what you have at home. Let your creativity run wild.
Here are a few recipe swaps that most likely will not affect the outcome of your desserts:
- Use frozen berries instead of fresh
- Use coconut oil in place of cocoa butter
- Make a chia or flax “egg” instead of fresh
- Sub any nut butter for peanut butter
- Use light canned coconut milk for full fat coconut milk
- Swap one type of nut for another, including almond, pecans, hazelnuts, peanuts
We hope you enjoy these recipes. Keep us updated on what you’re baking at home, and let us know what else you’d like to see from us. Because we could all use a treat right now!
