Balsamic Brussels 3
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp water
- 3 tbsp Brown Swerve
- 6 pieces bacon, chopped
- 1 shallot, minced
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, quartered
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the vinegar, water, and Brown Swerve until the sweetener is mostly dissolved.
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crisp. Use a slotted spoon to remove to a paper towel lined plate.
- Add the shallot to the pan and cook until tender, about 2 minutes. Then add the sprouts and toss to coat in the bacon grease (if there isn’t enough, add a tablespoon of olive oil). Cook the sprouts until they become tender and caramelized, 7 to 10 minutes.
- Add the sauce to the pan and mix well. Cook another minute or two to allow the sauce to thicken. Add the bacon back into the pan and season to taste with salt and pepper.
