Introducing...Brown Swerve!

  • Linda

I have a great recipe for pound cake and want to know if I can use Swerve instead of sugar cup for cup as a replacement. I have previously been using Stevia for some recipes but it is not suitable for baking. From what I have read, Swerve seems to provide the same results in baking as sugar. Is this truly the case? Also, what is the difference between Swerve Granular and Swerve Confectioners? Is it synonymous with sugar and powdered sugar? I plan to try my pound cake recipe soon and look forward to your prompt response. I'm also excited about Brown Swerve and would like to know if it is now in grocery stores? Thanks so much, and have a great, SWEET day!! Linda

    • Swerve

Hi Linda! Most of the time yes, Swerve acts just like sugar. But pound cake can be trickier. We recommend using the recipe on our website for a Butter Pound Cake. Confectioners is just a finer grind than granular - better for icings and frostings! Brown Swerve is found in some stores including Central Market, HEB, Sprouts, and more coming soon!

  • Shae Meininger

I want to make red pepper jelly. The recipe calls for 5 cups of sugar, so you think that much swerve is nec? Thx

    • Swerve

Hi Shae, that sounds like a lot! Maybe start with half that amount of Swerve, and add 1 tsp gelatin plus 1 TBSP lemon juice.

  • Vince

I would like to try your products and was wondering if you give out printable coupons Thanks, Vince

    • Swerve

Hi Vince! We would like for you to try Swerve as well. Please check your email :)

  • Patti Dionisio

Is is as safe for diabetics as Stevia is and not full of all the bad stuff as in Equal and some of the others?

    • Swerve

Hi Patti, Thank you for your comment. Swerve is zero-calorie, non-glycemic & safe for those who are living with diabetes, since it has no effect on blood glucose or insulin levels.

I haven't been able to find the cake mix or pancake mix yet. All available near me is the granulated and Powered swerve. I could order it if I knew where it is sold. Thank you

Does Swerve have sugar alcohol in it? I would love a coupon to try. Thanks

I saw a bag of Swerve at my local supermarket and decided to buy it. I always been unable to use sugar substitutes as they leave a bitter and bad taste in my mouth, plus they upset my stomach. I’ve used it for a couple of days and so far so good. Is much better than any other sugar substitutes I taken before. When I find the brown one I will buy it.

  • Lesa Williams

I am very excited for this product! I have used both the granulated and powdered and am very pleased with the results! I bake Birthday

    • Swerve

Hi Lesa, We hope you love Brown Swerve! It really is just like brown sugar.

  • Nancy

Would love coupons also. Question old recipe for banana pudding. 3/4 c sugar. 1/3 c plain flour. 3 egg yolks and 2 cups milk. Cooked in double boiler till custard. Would this work with swerve. Thankd

    • Swerve

Hi Nancy! That banana pudding recipe should work just fine! We have a similar one on our website: If you email we'd be happy to send you some samples!

  • Dorothy

I bought swerve but is it normal to use 4 pots to sweeten a glass of tea ? I'm so use to using 1 pkt of truvia I feel like 4 is not good of swerve but that's how many I need to sweeten my tea & sometimes 5

    • Swerve

Hi Dorothy, Swerve has the same amount of sweetness as sugar, and is twice as sweet as Truvia. So it is normal the use a bit more than what you were using before!

  • Gryta

Hi, How can I get your products in Europe?

    • Swerve

Hi Gryta, you can find them on or!

  • Sue Evans

Dorthy wrote to ask about having to use 4 or 5 Swerve packets to replace 1 Truvia in her tea. You answer that Swerve is the same as sugar and is twice as sweet as Truvia so it is normal to use more Swerve. Trivia claims their 3 he packet (about 3\4 teaspoon) is equal to 2 teaspoons of sugar. Is the Swerve packet smaller? I can not make sense of this.

  • Audrey M Almond

I love quick breads like rhubarb bread - I cannot find any recipe for it but it calls for 1 cup brown sugar - do I the same amount of swerve brown sugar than - ddo I just swap brown sugar for Swerve brown sugar equally?

    • Swerve

Hi Audrey! Yes, Swerve measures cup for cup!

  • Cheryl Ackerman

I have been using swerve for awhile. Excited to try brown swerve to make my own bar b q sauce. My husband is diabetic controlled with diet and minor meds. Would love coupons for swerve and brown swerve since I use a 12 ounce bag per week. Any plans for making larger bags?

  • Karen Teeling

What can i use to replace Brown Swerve? Or can I? haven't seen it around me, but would like to try it.

    • Swerve

  • Debra Johnson

Greeting, I have been reading about Brown Swerve to use as a replacement for brown sugar. I have also read in your reviews that you have a White Swerve. I would like to know if the health benefits are the same for both. I also would like to receive a free sample of both. I'm searching for a sugar substitute and very excited about what I have read about your product. Thanks, Mrs. Johnson
