What makes swerve better than regular erythritol?

    • Swerve

Hey Jim, great question! The main reasons Swerve is better than Erythritol is that the oligosaccharides in our blend allow baked goods to brown and caramelize just like regular sugar. Our blend also measures cup for cup just like sugar - so no math or baking conversions needed! Hope this helps. Please feel free to contact us through the contact link if you have any further questions!

I have problems with artificial sweeteners, and stevia giving me severe migraines. Has anyone complained of that with Swerve?

    • Swerve

Hi Johanna, thank you for visiting our website! Swerve is made naturally and consists of all plant based ingredients. We have never had any reports of anyone getting migraines from consuming Swerve. On the contrary, we've had people come to us and say their migraines went away after switching to Swerve. Hope this helps!

Hello, I’m on a low carb diet and I purchased your swerve granular sugar. Is this the same thing as Erithrytol? I believe it’s the main ingredient but wanted to make sure because I was going to buy another product as well. Thank you

    • Swerve

Hi Susana! Yes, the main ingredient in Swerve is erythritol. We also have some prebiotic fibers and natural flavors from citrus to improve the taste, up the sweetness, and optimize it for baking and cooking. Hope this helps!

I purchased Erythritol on line and didn't like the way it tasted. Almost like it was cooling. Does Swerve do this? I know that Erythritol is the main ingredient but was hoping that it doesn't have the same taste

    • Swerve

Hi Jennifer! Erythritol can sometimes have a cooling effect since it takes more energy to dissolve erythritol compared to sugar. Since Swerve is mainly erythritol, you may get a cooling sensation, but we have added fiber in our blend that helps minimize this. We also have a great FAQ on how to reduce the cooling effect: https://swervesweet.com/faqs#baking-cooking
