Keto Avocado Brownies

Recipes   Gluten Free     Keto     Sweets
  • 1 cup Swerve, Granular
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 oz melted unsweetened chocolate
  • 3 TBS milk
  • 2 medium slightly ripe avocados
  • ¼ cup sour cream, room temperature
  • 3 TBS butter, room temperature
  • 1 TBS vanilla extract
  1. Preheat oven to 350, and line 11x 7 baking dish with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients (Swerve, almond flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt) and whisk together.  Set aside.
  3. In a microwave or double boiler melt unsweetened chocolate and milk together. Whisk until combined. If you are using a microwave, melt chocolate and milk on 10 second intervals- stirring in between each interval. Set aside or remove from burner.
  4. Cut avocados in half- remove pit, and spoon avocado out of shell. Place in a food processor, and process until smooth.
  5. Add each of the wet ingredients (melted chocolate, sour cream, butter, vanilla) one at a time to the smooth avocado mixture, and process for a few seconds until all of the wet ingredients have been added to the food processor and are combined.
  6. Add dry ingredients to the wet avocado mixture and mix until combined.
  7. Pour or spoon batter into parchment paper lined baking dish.
  8. Place in oven and bake for 35 minutes.
  9. Let cool and slice into serving size of choice - normally makes 12 to 16 brownies.

Note: If your avocados are too ripe, the brownies will taste too earthy. They should still be firm.

Makes 12-16 servings

So I am a Weight Watchers member I was hoping you would have some lower calorie high protein recipes for WW members...

    • Swerve

Hi Julie! We do have some lower calorie options that are closer to 100 calories per serving. You might like the Blueberry Pancake Muffins, Maple Granola, 3 Ingredient PB Cookies, or Blueberry Breakfast Bars. Hope this helps! All of our recipes list nutrition facts, so feel free to browse our recipes section!

  • Michael A Hammel

Hi Sweetie, For those of us on a High Fat/Low Carb Keto Diet (20g or less), do we follow the total, or net carbs? I have been following the total carb rule. Please advise.

    • Swerve

Hi Michael, You would want to count the NET carbs, not the total carbs, since Swerve has no effect on blood sugar. Hope this helps!

  • Kimberly

    Yay desserts

I'm confused by the Nutrition Facts; does 24g total carbs, 6g dietary fiber refer to the entire recipe, or is it per serving? How was "Net cargs: 2g" arrived at?

    • Swerve

Hi Pete, the nutrition facts refer to one serving, or one brownie. Swerve does not impact blood sugar, so the carbs coming from Swerve are not included in the net carb count. To find net carbs, 24g total carbs - 6g fiber - 16g Swerve = 2g net carbs.

Anybody made these? I've ever ever had avocados.

  • jody DeLavern

1 TBS vanila. Really? Seems like a lot. Could it be 1 tsp instead?

    • Swerve

Hi Jody! We like it with 1 TBS but you are welcome to reduce if you prefer. Thank you!

  • jody DeLavern

I used the entire tablespoon and they were delicious. It's just that sometimes mistakes are published in recipes so I question them. This was not mistake. Thanks!
